"Finally, ministers pointed out that communication during moments of crisis could further be reinforced through timely coordination and should be more coherent, especially to counter malicious external actors engaged in foreign information manipulation and interference." Amen.
Positive 🇮🇪 @consilium.europa.eu Presidency on Ceuta. UK press and assorted RW scumbags here and in the US (👀 Vance) will be disappointed. Good point about countering "malicious external actors engaged in foreign information manipulation and interference" www.consilium.europa.eu/en/meetings/...
Spent an hour today cleaning all the different Python version I cluttered my machine with over the years. Hopefully everything is clean now. I really can't understand why anyone would have a preference for this ecosystem.

It's honestly what I love about it. I set it to work, get started on reading papers. Yes: Reading. Papers. Something I thought I would never have time to do ever again. And then I check back with AI every once in a while.
Prediction: This paper will generate a lot of discussion. www.nber.org/papers/w35544

Over the last 20 plus years of attending academic conferences I've watched the assistant professor and graduate student presenters become increasingly more methodological sophisticated and the methods become increasingly complex. And it's hard to keep up.
Reading about Infantino / FIFA and the obvious conclusion is how Trump has normalised massive corruption for those in his circle. And the opportunities are huge in today's globalisation. Hence the importance of some form of global rules however compromised.

American colleges too. I had a classmate/nominal roommate who moved in with her prof boyfriend; in grad programs it was incredibly common for men's second wives to be the much-younger grad student (look up wikis of those you admire) & it was v common for them to hit on grad students at conferences.

🇺🇦 FM warns of a 🇷🇺 campaign using #Ceuta pictures to sow destabilisation. Are 🇮🇹🇫🇮🇩🇰 governments talking of suspending Schengen—not mentioning that (a) 🇪🇸 quickly got the Ceuta situation under control & (b) there are border controls between Ceuta and EU mainland anyway—aware whose game they are playing?
Has Infantino overplayed his hand?
UEFA says it has lost confidence in FIFA President Gianni Infantino and that “no option should be off the table” as it will pursue a full review of his now abandoned plan to sell stakes of the World Cup to private equity investors.
Glad someone senior from the sector is pushing back. Labour MPs need to understand the serious real anger from graduates and the people who produce them. And the dangerous financial situation they have allowed to fester, or indeed worsened, in one of Britain’s leading sectors.
