When Dems talk about the Ilhan Omar situation, they need to stop using language that implies that Omar might have done anything wrong. Trump is not "investigating" Omar. They are trying to denaturalize and deport a sitting Congressmember by scrutinizing decades old paperwork from when she was a kid

Remember that Republicans believe that the first spike there, caused entirely by Putin's invasion of Ukraine, is actually Joe Biden's fault while the second spike there, caused entirely by Trump's war on Iran, is also Joe Biden's fault.

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

I am way too online for my own good, and I had an unreasonably large twitter following, and I really *enjoyed* twitter for a lot of years, and yet leaving there and never looking back was maybe the easiest what-felt-like-a-big-ethical decision I've ever made.

X is the platform of choice for these smears. Musk himself pushed this conspiracy from his own account three times. Democrats need to go to war against Musk because he's already attacking them. He's deeply unpopular. And, as we saw in Wisconsin, voters recoil when he becomes an issue in a race.

As someone who is mostly pro-Digger, the idea that people who don't like it are film illiterates or something is very strange to me. That movie makes many deliberate choices you will either find intriguing or excruciating, and the second you tip over into "excruciating," it's not getting you back.

It really threw me how careful the film is with Jennifer Jason Leigh's storyline, oops you got pregnant, it's okay, go get an abortion, gets an abortion, brother picks her up no lecture, best friend scratches "PRICK" into the car of guy who knocked her up who wouldn't help pay for it.

The more combative Dems get, the more of this they will run into. It will be a coordinated wave of elite opinion, scolding them, tamping them down. The fight strategy *only* works if they are willing to bull their way through it, blow it off, mock it. (Their history does not raise one's hopes.)

This is especially galling given how cavalier this administration has been about deploying the troops and how callous they've been about their well-being while they're there. Sailors are trying to commit suicide on the USS Abraham Lincoln as the Millers soak up benefits meant for the military.
