Today is the 6th anniversary of this tweet, revealing that the threat of political violence could happen even inside a state capitol. Months later, our nation’s capitol was attacked in one of the most devastating displays of political violence in American history.

Thank you to Governor Whitmer for signing my school cell phone bill into law this morning! This goes to show that we can work across the aisle and across chambers if it means doing what’s right for kids.
The people of Michigan deserve leaders who have their best interests at heart and stay true to their word. GOP House Speaker Matt Hall has proven to do just the opposite, attempting to rob my constituents of the resources they were promised from the state with bicameral, bipartisan agreement.
Today we honor the American heroes in the U.S. Capitol Police department and other law enforcement officers who were beaten and crushed while defending the United States Capitol against a domestic attack on the day Congress was certifying the Presidential election.

Michigan House Republicans consider fixing Inkster’s Community Center roof to be “waste,” “fraud,” and “abuse,” so they clawed back the funding Inkster was set to receive to fix the roof. This is what happened last night at the Dozier community center. Inkster’s mayor and residents are devastated.

Matt Hall and his caucus are slashing funding for new moms, kids with cancer, fighting the opioid crisis, and crucial projects in every corner of the state.

This week, I visited Starfish Family Services along with Senator Dayna Polehanki. Their team is doing incredible work, serving nearly a thousand little ones across 14 early-childhood centers and running mental health clinics that support families from birth to adulthood.
