I was chided in TM’s monthly email about page views because nobody seems to want to read about the country’s first BBQ museum or the play Das Barbecü, a BBQ-themed version of Wagner’s Ring cycle. Maybe y’all want to read them. www.texasmonthly.com/bbq/museum-o...

"Two barbecue pits, both alike in dignity (In fair Lockhart Texas, where we lay our scene), From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil sauce makes civil hands unclean." excerpt from my adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, the setting moved to the feud between Black's and Terry Black's BBQ

The barbecue down in southeast Texas is so great now. Mout’s Barbeque in Winnie, Charlie’s Bar-B-Que and 1701 BBQ in Beaumont, and Redbird BBQ in Port Neches make the area one heck of a BBQ destination.
