One of the main reason I enjoy reading and writing Xenofiction. To get into the mind of another creature just hits differently. With exceptions like the Classics of Dickens and Dostoevsky, and modern titles like Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, I don’t really care for human based stories.
Cherub@polygoncherub.bsky.social · 4w agoWhy are regular human characters just so boring. I just... I just don't care. Take any single player narrative and swap the mc with a robot or something and suddenly I care. That's probably not a good sign of my ability to relate to humanity.
Not really sure why I’m so passionate about the concept of adult/mature Xenofiction. Actually, I think I know why. It deserves to be complex and explorative of things most general XF avoid because it might be “too weird” or “worse”. I’m sick of the “XF is for kids” mentality.
