Reading all the comics and figuring out how to best collect them so you don't have to. Fan of everything except that one thing you like. Everything else is cool. Always writing at crushingkrisis.com Often appearing on Near Mint Condition In NZ 🥝

The publisher of Spider-Man can't figure out how to make comics for children. They leave that to Disney or license it out to other publishers. Even DC's been doing good YA stuff for 10+ years but Marvel can't figure out how to copy them. Ooh it makes me so furious

This is not specific to yesterday's layoffs, which came from Disney, but Marvel's razor-thin margins shrink constantly, they can't hire new editors, they slash rates, they let people go…but a little long-term strategy could build a profitable YA division. They laid off their one YA editor yesterday.

Every year the data shows middle grade/YA comics are bigger than ever. Virtually every comics publisher that turns a profit does it with their MG/YA line. But Marvel, they can't be bothered. It's negligence and I'd even call it a failure of leadership. Every laid-off editor could still have a job.

Donated. I remember being 11, a friend stopping at the comic shop on the way over for the weekend buying me the first two issues of Force Works. It looked so weird and probably helped push me to indie comics years later.

One of my most-wanted Marvel omnis is Force Works, a 90s Avengers comic that launched with unusual, striking artwork by Tom Tenney that stuck in my brain for 30yrs. Tom needs our help with dealing with COPD and homelessness. Support the creators who made the things you love. gofund.me/ead137bd8

I headed to Seoul as a special guest for Dice Comics Cafe's drink and draw for charity! The theme was famous comic covers. Luckily, they had my @boom-studios.com Garfield sketch covers in stock to draw on. Can you tell what famous covers Garf is recreating?

A pen and marker drawing of Garfield staring in the mirror covered in lasagna sauce, recreating Bob Layton's Demon in a Bottle Iron Man cover.A pen and marker drawing of modern Garfiels sadly walking away from a giant 1978 Garfield. It is a recreation of John Romita's Spider-Man No More cover.

New 52 was a line-wide reboot and some fanbases never forgave what they lost in the relaunch. The Absolute characters are relieved of the burden of honoring the “true” versions of the icons, and it makes the readers more open-minded about the vast differences

I've been waiting literal DECADES for the original Chaos Comics characters to be collected coherently. It's finally happening. I have a guide to Lady Death that explains EVERY SINGLE APPEARANCE she makes in these comics. Can't wait to own them all in one format! www.comicsbeat.com/dynamite-and...
