if you took my phone away I would miss geotagged photos for iNaturalist, but I kind of liked printing directions or charting a course on a map. I would miss texting and group chats, and that’s a harder fix. I wouldn’t like it long-term, but as a little vacation, hell yeah, let’s go.

Stupid, pointless continent. We need to hyper-Balkanise the entirety of Europe and place every territory under the Suzerainty of a state in the Global South until Europeans learn to behave like normal, civilised human beings.

Sounds delicious. In Amsterdam meatballs of minced pork and minced prawns used to be made in the Jordaan neighbourhood. They did this because prawns were cheaper than pork or beef in those days, and people just went to the beaches to collect them. The Jordaan neighbourhood used to be very poor.
