I will never, *ever* purchase a game with this 'functionality'.

Apparently the CEO of Hoyo has stated that in the next couple years HoYoverse will “play one of the most pivotal roles in China’s LLM-AI” I straight up don’t know any other game developer making this much of a spectacle out of its AI use. I understand the cultural difference. It’s still alarming.

Anyway here's Mihoyo promoting AI assisted game production including: "Efficiency in Image and Material Generation With very few materials, they can generate character model sheets + 3D models, allowing for the testing of multiple designs and their artistic outcomes." Something to keep an eye on.

Just a reminder. You can't say you're opposed to generative ai being used for creative assets in games. While at the same time knowingly playing games that use generative ai to make creative assets. It's one or the other.

Graveyard keeper 2 is now out, it doesn't have a gen AI disclosure on steam but given how much one of the lead developers seemingly can't live without the stuff I don't trust it.

Here's the main points from the site page. This is how Discord is going to implement it. While it sucks they're doing this, they're pretty much covering their asses to get any governments off their backs. The blame should still be put on those stupid ID laws.

I just read through it and from what I could gather, they actually taken in some feedback. For the most part, they're going to implement it to where it doesn't require selfies or ID cards. This isn't something to cause any of y'all to nuke your Discord accounts or go into mass hysteria.
