We get a lot of various AI requests and they're all garbage. Stuff like us licensing our assets and codebase to train AI. We have no interest in helping any AI side hustles or companies nor do we use any gen AI in any of our development. 💩
It’s wild seeing companies completely shred their trust with employees and partners. You still have to run a business (well maybe not??) and do you think anyone will trust you at your word. Get everything in a contract, don’t expect them to do the things they say they’ll do.
I am part of this round of layoffs and am seeking new opportunities. If your team needs a narrative director / storyteller, please reach out.

Don’t call layoffs and closures stuff like “reset” or “refresh” or “rejuvenation” or “rejigger” or “reshuffle” unless you’re trying to get clapped.
Embark on a journey that’s a melting pot of turn-based combat, rhythm action, and spicy mini-games. Save the world, and maybe even your heart, from your corporate sister’s empire. Big update and 30% off right now! s.team/a/2950710
We're working with Natalie on a couple of things and it's been wonderful. She's very talented and collabs well!
i will be posting a LFW work call later on, but i recently made the decision to quit working in games full-time. i know it’s much easier said than done, but it’s worth trying to leave games. i can count on one hand the people i know who work in games (dev or journalism) full-time and are happy.
DOSA DIVAS from @outerloopgames.bsky.social, a notable game of this year in our opinion, just received a BIG quality of life update! 🌶👩🍳🤖 The game is also currently 30% off on Steam as part of the Party-Based RPG Fest. Give this colorful, heartfelt, and breezy RPG a look! 🙂 s.team/a/2950710
like @danielleri.bsky.social, @diegoarguello.bsky.social, and @kerrblimey.bsky.social, i will no longer be contributing to game developer. it was an absolute blast working with this team on my twice-a-month column! that means i’ve got more time to report and write for you!!!! hit us all up, really✨
Went out to an early morning wild life shoot at Union Bay near UW. It was pouring. This duck landed near us in the water and kept walking toward us. Then proceeded to follow us for about five minutes down a trail. Gave no f’s.

This sucks. I've been a Miro fan for years and it's a big part of our fully remote team for collaboration. Looking for other options.
Miro just got acquired, I wonder what the new company will do. "often increasing revenue and lowering expenses (including by reducing headcount). The company employs full-stack developers to rewrite acquired codebases using artificial intelligence" Ah ...ah.
god, you guys, just buy the indie game that looks kinda cool. don't play the demo, don't agonize over the reviews or wishlist, JUST BUY THE INDIE GAME!! if you didn't like it, oh well, whatever, maybe next time, meanwhile you supported an artist, thanks for coming to the gig, want a t-shirt?
🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:
Absolutely losing it over this lady who appears to run a business of "lay on a massage bed as I stand over you with a horse nearby" DEEP EMOTIONAL THERAPY and advertises it with phrases like YOU CAN HIDE FROM A HUMAN. YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM A HORSE. AS PREY ANIMALS, HORSES READ TRUTH BEFORE WORDS.
many of you were wondering why the hot part of the cigarette is on his head. well,
Would love to talk to some @godotengine.org devs about your approach to shipping on consoles. Feel free to DM. Cheers!
We were able get a shippable game up and running in Godot with a very small team in shorter time than we were able to before. Opening up the project is fast, build times are fast, editing while game is running allows for faster iteration too.
Godot adoption is rising: what are devs getting out of the engine?
We signed our next thing. Big relief. It is tough out there.
been seeing lost of folks on here talk about no opps in games journalism right now. at @mothership.blog we pay decent rates, edit your stories carefully, and provide support and community for our freelancers. we accept stories about games and identity (no news). our pitch guide here:

Here at Mothership, we have a specific focus: the intersection of games and identity, specifically as it pertains to gender, sexuality, and the bodies we inhabit in reality and in games. By “games,” w...

We've been busy on our multiplayer Godot project and it's coming along well. A co-op fishing adventure where you and your friends survive on a boat and fight back against the creatures of the deep. We're going to be looking for external playtesters very soon.
