I’m saying this so it’s very, very clear - my timeline is a trans/queer/gender safe space. If you are a cis gender person and you even imply that trans and gender queer people need to be policed in any way, you can find unfriend button and leave.
Just FYI, administrative warrants (like the ones used by ICE) are not judicial warrants (used by cops, signed by a judge). You do NOT legally have to open the door for an ICE officer with an administrative warrant *no matter what the ICE officer says.*
David Lynch was right. The celebrated "tormented artist" trope is toxic as hell. Great artists aren't great because their pain and sadness "makes them better". Their art is possibly the only place where they find solace. They'd be much better off being happy.

2/3 The other person objected to my implying she was/calling her cis. She stated that she was a woman and had strong feelings about being referred to as cis. I understood that she was saying she was a normal woman and didn’t want to be identified as cis b/c trans women….
1/2 I am a trans ally, all the time, everywhere. Stepped away from a conversation about trans women and bathrooms when I got blasted for saying cis women don’t get to exclude trans women from spaces.
I know that self-serving people exist. I know it’s easy to fall for self-serving rhetoric when situations are complex and analysis is complicated. I wish that empathy was as easy. I’ll own my hypocrisy when I dislike people who don’t think like me, but I’m not advocating for them to lose rights.
Cut ties with a family member today. Didn’t when they participated in the Flu Trucks Klan but now they’re trumpeting transphobic rhetoric and I’m not going to debate human rights with them again.

This. I mean, legislating that people can't do what they want with their own body is a dangerous slippery slope. I mean people think of the other obvious things like birth control, but what else? Forbidding certain types of piercings? Making tattoos illegal?
