seeing friends need support and going "oh I could help out" then realising last month I needed help towards the end of the pay period. I'm glad I'm getting better at this but I miss being able to be carelessly selfless when I had a well paying job

Got a new camera and lens for my imaging machine only to realize I now have to redesign the camera mount for the 5th time. This time I'm planning on using QR plates since I'm using a heavier lens and want to reduce the need for future redesigns.
use firefox or a firefox based browser and have too many tabs? right click a tab, select all tabs, right click again, bookmark tabs. that, or use firefox profiles. I forgot I used profiles years ago to keep session history so i could always restore tabs.
Thinking about making a factory themed game in Java to touch up on my skills. Looking online for asset packs it looks like I'll have to go and make my own assets for it though. Shouldn't be too difficult. #gamedev
I'm sure absolutely nothing will go wrong with adding features to my project roadmap late at night. I'm sure most of them are unnecessary and can't be tested too well, but I'm pretty sure some of these are also ideas I've had for a while, but never bothered writing down. #softwaredevelopment
making tools is great. you make a game and it's like ten hours to make one thing move correctly once. you make a tool and it's like you spend five minutes adding in honking sounds. this suddenly opens up an entire lifetime's worth of combinatorial honk-based self-expression. magic.
never believe what you see when you flip your art that is the version of your art that lives in the mirror dimension
Haven't watched the video this post is about but didn't know that USB 4 was gonna be 100% USB Type C and mandatory PD support which both seem like positive outcomes

sorry i just think it’s really funny that when you eject from a plane you get to be part of a special club and you get exclusive swag and if you wanna drop the money you can get a special watch that nobody who hasn’t been ejected from a plane can buy

Valve bankrolled Proton development. Discord probably fixed their terrible Linux client for the Steamdeck/Steam Machine. AMD probably got off their ass, to some degree, about proper legacy FSR4 support for the Steamdeck/Steam Machine thanks for saving PC gaming again, Valve
Finally decided to get PTGui. As much as I like open source image stitching software the professional software does a way better job at image stitching.
The Alaska Senate just passed my bill establishing a Right to Repair for consumer electronics in Alaska. My office will be putting out more on my official channels later, but I'm encouraged by the fact that the legislation passed with a strong, bipartisan majority, 15 to 5.
It's such a good feeling when you manage to cut the time a program takes to run in half. On a side note, my focus stacking program is now a bit over 2x faster! #programming #softwaredevelopment
Man mobile file upload UIs will really do ANYTHING but just show you the file system on your device and let you select a file from it It's like they think "files" and "folders" are scary and unintuitive for the average user, which MIGHT even be true but like ...
I'm having way too much fun focus stacking. Probably helps that I have an easy way to take the photos now with FieldWeave. I do have some ideas on how to improve the focus stacking algorithm now, but that'll have to wait until later. #photography #macrophotography #FieldWeave #focusstacking
GAMEOVERSE OFFICIALLY DROPS MAY 15! We are SO excited to share with you this special animated pilot that RubberRoss has been working on for years. We hope you enjoy it! The team has been working hard to make this an amazing watch 💖
I think I can finally call the improvements on the focus stacking algorithm for FieldWeave done. For the interested, this will be available on Github as a cli tool once I finish optimizing it's memory usage. #FieldWeave #Programming #Photography
Am currently working on improving my focus stacking algorithm for FieldWeave. I gotta say, I'm making great progress, but on the downside it can no longer generate height maps. I'll be working on restoring that functionality soon. #FieldWeave #focusstacking #programming
mei already drinks (water) out of a teacup, but today she wouldn't drink her water. she kept nosing at my teacup, which had a coaster under it. then i put a coaster under her teacup, she drank her water. this is the face she made afterward.
Also, look, I know there is still *so much* imperial measure hardware out there, but can we all please *please* just standardize everything to proper metric already, (yes yes, I know the inch is defined in terms of the mm, so it is /technically/ metric by association, but I still hate it)
