i am incredibly excited to share our research about how paying people’s rent through mutual aid made an impact on minnesota this year we accidentally collected more data than anyone ever has for an effort like this, and can very seriously say we prevented an eviction bubble that everyone expected

Documenting the Impact of US DHS Activity in MN

Conference Date: Sept 22, 2026

Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs

Purpose

In December 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began a significant, sustained agent surge in Minnesota that affected the daily lives of many residents, but had severe impacts on immigrant communities and communities of color.

This one-day, in-person convening provides researchers from across disciplines and organizations with an opportunity to share and discuss research related to the effects of Operation Metro Surge and Operation PARRIS.

I have a plan: Every Democratic candidate should have to stand up in front of a room of trans teens and tell them if appealing to moderates is more important than healthcare for trans kids. Then the kids get to choose whether to kick the candidate in the shins. I can round up some trans teens.

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

Checked again tonight, all lights are fixed. Not sure when--no one from @cityofsaintpaul.bsky.social ever followed up. But at least they're on! Thank you @mollycoleman.bsky.social for escalating this!

Oh, great. @mndot.mn.gov is passing the buck. Unfortunately, @seankershaw.bsky.social no longer leads @cityofsaintpaul.bsky.social public works and I don't know anyone else there who can get this fixed ASAP.

Thank you for sending in a report of multiple lights out on Snelling Ave near the Minnesota State Fair grounds. The lights that you have reported out are owned and maintained by the City of St. Paul. We have forwarded your report over to them.

Thank you,

Hey @mndot.mn.gov! I just rode from Pierce Butler to Como and back on the first night of the #StateFair. You have FIVE STREETLIGHTS OUT along Snelling, 3 at critical pedestrian crosswalks. This is DEADLY and you need to FIX IT NOW! Here's the first, at the top of the SB PB ramp.

Pierce Butler Ramp and southbound Snelling. This intersection is blind & deadly on a normal day--much more so at night with no light.
