This would be my album of the year [so far], were it not for My New Band Believe.
Today's choice, rounding out the month, is from The Avalanches new album and what a joy it is. Could have picked pretty much anything from it, it's an absolute gem from front to back, but this with Rivers Cuomo guesting wins out. Thanks to @maxtundra.com for the heads up! tidal.com/track/569686...
Any time John Nettles name is mentioned someone will *always* murmur- not say but murmur- ‘Berjerac’. This doesn’t happen with any other actor. People don’t murmur ‘Bond’ with Sean Connery. #nettleslaw
Would love to hear a collab between Andy Stott and Donald & Davey Stott.

Got another one! Ian Dury & the Blocklists
Bluesky a band: 1) Lloyd Scold and the Commotions 2) alt-text-J
So many eighties pop songs are brilliantly weird - Duran Duran, Dollar, Tears for Fears - you often listen to them and you can’t really hear someone sitting alone with an acoustic guitar. There’s no ‘genesis’ as it were. You don’t hear the seams. The Reflex by Duran Duran, say. What a mad song.
