My daughter is getting oral surgery on Friday and dealing with our healthcare provider leading up to this has been more stressful than anything. Is it their job to NOT want to pay for stuff? Why is money taken out of my paycheck every week for this bullshit when they decline to cover everything?

If I had to pick the best fantasy series of this century, it would without hesitation be THE SHADOW OF THE LEVIATHAN by @robertjbennett.bsky.social. I can't even put into words how brilliant the series is. If you haven't read it yet, I'm jealous that you get to experience it for the first time.
My 15 year-old daughter only knows Alan Rickman as Professor Snape. Tonight I introduce her to the classic that is DIE HARD. Cannot wait to watch her reaction.

A cynic would say that France, England, Spain, and Argentina all making it to the final four of the World Cup is about as chalk a result as you can get. I'm sure FIFA is elated though.
An under the radar fantasy trilogy that I don't see talked about nearly enough is The Risen Kingdoms by Curtis Craddock. Pre-Victorian era time period, but with floating airships & a truly original magic system. Think a steampunk version of 17th century France. Can't recommend it highly enough!

I've been watching the replay of the disallowed Egypt goal and in no universe was that a foul. A serious investigation should be done on the ref and whoever from FIFA watched that video and made that determination. Just awful. At the least that game should have gone to extra time. #WorldCup2026
It was a nice run for the USA, but they just don't have the horses to play with the better European teams.
