And the good old @philrace.bsky.social triggers: what, why, so what, what else?
Absolutely - lots of reflections - lots of why did we do that - what did I get from it - what will I do next... Without reflection there is no learning, but some subjects only ask students to reflect on placement learning - it all needs to be made conscious... #LTHEchat

Huge thanks to @jonnybranney.bsky.social for the great questions See you next week - same time, same place! #LTHEchat
Q6: Are the challenges going on in higher education right now an opportunity or barrier to small group learning? Please explain. Reply with A6 #LTHEChat and your response
A4. I think more depth when same task, yes. Since I got into same task I have never returned to groups having different tasks. Maybe it depends on the intended learning outcome which we should choose? #LTHEchat
A2. It can be positive to respond positively to student teams too, especially if some of the students in the team got answers wrong when they attempted themselves #LTHEchat
Huge thanks to @dompates.bsky.social for the great questions. See you next week - same time, same place! #LTHEchat
Thanks Sally to you and @kaysambell.bsky.social for being one of the first guests on the Podcast, plus your episode for the ALT, Jisc and SEDA 30th anniversary mini series and your support for the podcast #LTHEChat 🙏
Trying to give a presentation without 'hesitation...' that'd be quite an achievement for me! A great idea though :-D #LTHEchat
#lthechat A5 @philrace.bsky.social and I do our morning exercises ( me on the floor doing yoga and him on the exercise bike) listening to informative podcasts from BBC radio 4 and learn so much. If I was teaching modern politics, literature or linguistics I would refer to them constantly
A5 - my parents used to play the radio when we were kids and I think I liked the familiarity of it. I wonder if there is a place for regular CPD via radio for HE in like a radio 4 style? I think the value could bring more communities together! #LTHEchat
I recall talking to one of my students pre start of class that I''d listened to this interesting R4 programme about tech. He looked at me quizzically and asked "So you actually own a radio?" #LTHEchat
We also did a presentation to the rules of Just a Minute once with animal sounding buzzers for the 4 of us. #LTHEchat
That would be wonderful!! And perhaps some with some instruments in - including yogurt pots and watercooler drums - where people could make some music together? #LTHEchat
#LTHEchat A4 Music as background would not work - but - we asked a colleague to run a low stakes music and 'composition' session for our UG students - with crazy instruments - for fun, blonding and belonging - and reflecting back that they could construct meaning together. It was Ace!
Q4 How do you feel about music being a component of continuing professional development (CPD) activities (e.g. conferences, workshops or webinars)? Reply with A4 #LTHEChat and your response
A1 #LTHEChat does bird song count?
A5 #LTHEchat not sure. Is it really different to podcasting? I only listen to Six music and The archers, so… maybe we should have a HE soap opera… an everyday tale of academic folk.
A4 #LTHEchat I love music and always have it on but coming from a hearing impaired family I am always really careful about using anything that can't be transcribed in teaching. Hearing aids will pick up every sound equally so speech and music at the same time can be particularly problematic.
