Dear @andyburnham.bsky.social The worsening climate & nature crisis lies behind just about every other challenge. Its solutions also happen to be great for jobs and prosperity. Delivering a Covid-style televised briefing will unlock the wartime-scale action needed. #NationalEmergencyBriefing

A very good example of why we need coordinated wartime-scale action👇 It’s not acceptable to leave grid expansion to market forces. We didn’t do so with the mobilisation for WW2. The gov should mandate it. The result is that UK will have to import even more highly polluting LNG from USA.

This amendment would ban oil & gas donations to UK political parties. Given the urgent need to transition to renewables to tackle the rising threat of climate change, this seems like a no-brainer for all MPs to support. Please share and ask your MP to back it. 🙏
This extreme weather of the past week isn't a one-off. It's part of a dangerous new norm. The oil and gas companies fuelling the climate crisis - and driving up your energy bills - shouldn't be funding our politics. I've tabled an Amendment to ban oil and gas donations to political parties.
