Ignore the standings for a moment. Listen carefully. Beneath the discourse, beneath the doomposting, there’s a refrain, carried in a whisper on the wind: Go Jays Go.

Washed up beer league utility baddie. High socks. Hearts full. Can't lose. Edmonton
You know you're a piece of shit when you're forcing me to side with EPS.

I really like my pixel phone but this is going to make me consider alternatives. I do not like being forced into more Gemini
See ya, Google Assistant.
Some are saying Team of Destiny* maybe? *Pending Vladdy figuring out it
I don't actually think they're going to get there, I don't really believe in them, yes there are a half-dozen teams ahead of them, but .. [Toronto is only 4 games out of a playoff spot]

Ok having an argument with a friend and I need opinions. He said "Am I crazy for being more bummed about Varsho than when Bo left?" I say yes, he is crazy. Thoughts?
all the primitive caveman diet stuff is so funny because wdym cavemen never ate vegetables, what do you think the gatherer in hunter-gatherer means, are they gathering steak sauce
More cops have been arrested for using flock cameras to stalk women than there are transgender athletes in youth sports.
Extra sad for the girl I saw in IKEA yesterday wearing what looked to be a brand new Varsho jersey. It had the 50 shoulder patch so it's at least from this season.
If Dalton Varsho doesn't hit a backbreaking home run this series, I'll be shocked.
Ok a bit late but have you considered Spencer Arrighetti Mr Roboto
As the foremost Jeff Hoffman apologist in the fan base, let me just say: Enjoy your seventh inning folks.
Hoffman was unfairly scapegoated for the team's failures this year. Not that he wasn't frustrating, but also was made to wear the first half of a terrible year while many other, much guiltier players skated by. A fun reliever and a fun dude. Will cherish the Game 7 against Seattle forever.
Ok you can't do this to me today. He's one of like 4 remaining players older than me!
44 minutes away from my 40s and I'm doing fine! Goodnight everybody! May the trade deadline bring a little bit of fun along with the inevitable dread!
Every time I see somebody masking I have two thoughts: 1: (Defensively) Oh you think you're better than me? 2: (Genuinely) You're probably the smartest person in the room and I should really buy more masks
If you're scared about being the only person wearing a mask, I can tell you that most people do not care. I've been masking for the past 6 years. I've travelled to several different countries in that time. I've never had Covid and I've endured a handful of snarky comments at most. Be brave.
Guess I'm going to get extremely emotionally invested into a guy named Ty and a guy named Brett. DO NOT LET ME DOWN TY AND BRETT! YOU WALK IN THE SHADOWS OF A FUCKING GIANT NAMED KEVIN!
The #BlueJays make it official. Chicago Cubs get: RHP Kevin Gausman Toronto gets: INF Ty Southisene OF Brett Bateman
I rarely comment on departing players, but Kevin Gausman is different. A thoughtful, reliable and impressive person to cover. All of the reasons #BlueJays fans were drawn to Gausman are genuine and real. Model player, model representative of this organization. He did it right.
So excited that the saddest trade deadline is falling on my birthday. I love crying.

Kevin Gausman is being traded to the Cubs, sources confirms, as reported by Mitch Bannon. Much more to come from the air en route to Houston. End of an era in Toronto.
Hell yeah Max
Max Scherzer reiterated that if the #BlueJays do sell, it's on them as players, but added: "If they don’t sell, great. We’re getting 40,000 fans a night. We want to go out there and play. We’re only a few games out of the Wild Card and anything can happen. We're a good team."
Those of you eager to serve wealthy MLB owners as volunteer Pinkertons won’t like to read this, but as usual Joe Sheehan nails the real problem:
