Last week I was lucky enough to visit Ukraine to create a documentary highlighting the impact of the conflict on the Ukrainian people, internally displaced people and veterans. It was incredibly humbling to speak to so many people and hear their stories.

It feels like ground hog day but #Didsbury and parts of South #Manchester are under another flood warning. Please follow advice and stay safe.

I have been in #Didsbury mosque since 17:30 yesterday where almost 400 people presented after evacuation following the flooding. The vast majority of people have been put up in temporary accommodation with a few more to sort this morning.

Residents in #Didsbury have contacted me and Cllr John Leech asking us to urge Post Office Ltd to reconsider the decision to shortlist the Didsbury Village Post Office for closure. For many, it is not just a place to post parcels or buy stamps; it is a lifeline.

This is a really important point by @mariecgoldman.bsky.social but further to this #dementia training is something all public facing workers should be doing. It will make people better at their jobs, raise awareness and most importantly keep things as normal for as long as possible #alzheimers

Recently, I spoke to Alzheimer's Society about the importance of mandatory dementia training for our social care workforce. In Chelmsford, over 58% of dementia cases remain undiagnosed, according to #NHS. We urgently need better awareness and support, both for dementia patients and care workers.

A 7:30am start to join #Manchester Council #Didsbury neighbourhood staff, GMP, and pupils from Cavendish Road Primary on Burton Road and Vicker Grove to help with the School Street for Road Safety Week. Pupils were great talking to parents and giving out leaflets they designed.
