Hey folks! I'm going to have a little medical downtime in early September (cataract surgery) so I'm taking advantage of that enforced rest to offer 4 writing mentoring sessions at $750/each.
Listening to @500songspodcast.bsky.social, one of the many things I am struck by is the absolutely unreal amount of bigamy going on. I guess recordkeeping was not really up to keeping track of marriages and divorces.
Weirdly, I think I'd be fine at running a Poshmark store. I'd have to do a bunch of pricing research to catch up, though.

Turns out our minisplits have "formicary corrosion" which is an evocative name for what turns out to be a materials issue that our plumbing company, WHO WE DO BUSINESS WITH REGULARLY, could have _mentioned_ at some point in the several years since they realized it was a problem.
Rule 1) No nazis. It doesn't matter if they're upper- or lower-case "n"; they're out. It doesn't matter if they did a thing out of irony or conviction; they're out. Rule 2) Repeat Rule 1 forever.

You know what I miss from most of the modern radio music I hear these days? The kind of extravagant musicianship that used to be easy to find - instrumental solos, guitarists whose fist I can pick out whoever they play with, that kind of thing. Who's doing that this days that I'm missing?

People look at my sketches and say "hey you're pretty good at that," not realizing that getting to "pretty good" involved art classes through AP Drawing and Painting and literally hundreds of hours of practice. I look mildly talented! I am not talented! I am a highly trained and experienced doodler.

I've been running gdcparties.com for a few years now. Some shitty company BlueberryAI decided they'd just take all the source code for the work I've done and reskin it, advertising it as their own. Jokes on them...it was still linked to my events spreadsheet, and now their website looks like this 😉
Slay the Spire 2 may be the first game I've bought the day it hit Early Access since something I worked on.
Accountant on one side, for the family junkyard business. The branch that owned it decided they wanted to keep the books in the family and sent him, a cousin, to college for the purpose. Car salesman on the other. Oldsmobiles, iirc. Never met either - they both died quite young of cancer.
