I love and loathe Tomb Raider in equal measure. On the one hand, a genuinely impressive go at exploratory 3D platforming. On the other, a game with a confused identity that betrays what the name "Tomb Raider" would have you believe. And the tank controls made me want to drink paint. Another month!

I've absolutely not been as loud about this as I could, even should, have been - it has absolutely been noticeable how much less common women writers have been at events this year, and how many fewer bylines they've had for reviews - particularly for major releases.

More than ever, if the game industry values its media, it needs to support them. Buy some advertising, sponsor content, purchase subs. It makes a big difference.
