Oh we doing "Why doesn't games media cover indies" discourse again? Sick

I'm honored to be the cover story at @unwinnable.com. I wrote about the revolutionary politics of Final Fantasy X, the way systems sustain themselves at all costs, and having the strength to burn the world down so you can find the future in the ashes. Happy 25th to one of the greatest.
You're not always the grand summoner -- sometimes, you're the middle-aged 30-year-old. This month's issue of Unwinnable Monthly features @edgarallanbro.bsky.social on revolution in FFX and our usual gang of columnists. Buy: buff.ly/DRnhpNm Subscribe: buff.ly/LK0CTtF
youtube: would you like to watched a six hour, ‘nuanced and apolitical’ essay about the truth behind gamergate me: what. don’t talk to me. go away. jesus
This looks very wholesome but I am afraid this name sounds like British slang for a nonce
Age Twisters
There are people in this industry who claim they want to help others but actually just laugh as they kick them off a cliff, and it's sickening. Talk about pulling the ladder up

Lex is the best she is at what she does. And what she does is words. Good words.
Hey, bub. I am suddenly available to review Wolverine for your website if you are looking for comic book fan (for my sins) as short as Logan to review Insomniac's first X-men game from a queer perspective, I'm your gal. I also like the colour yellow. I am very qualified.
There isn't going to be a future generation of games journalists by the way, if the last few years haven't made that clear. Not unless we seriously start holding some people to the fire
Restart has still not paid me for my CFB review.
lol so Restart, after laying off its entire editorial team, is now saying that it's going to be covering GTA6 and then trying to relaunch as a new project, claiming it will be reaching out to laid off staff about coming back, which it has, crucially, not said a word about to any of them.
Speaking of Doctor Who, got a big article about what exactly went wrong during RTD2 coming to @butwhytho.net soon. Big shout-out to @ohmymithrandir.bsky.social for somehow seeing the length of it and still agreeing to edit it
I have to record a podcast tomorrow in this heat, the things you have to do when you're friends with @joerichardswrites.bsky.social
I have been trying to get hold of two of my Doctor Who holy grails physically for years and I finally got them.
Something that irks me about the game industry is that after layoffs you'll see a ton of posts from editors offering work for the laid off people. But there's loads of freelancers who have been looking for work for AGES that don't get a look in.
I dunno man. I've actively been trying to get out of games media as my main profession for most of the year now and I've had, like, four job interviews. The entire market is so incredibly messed up
I got laid off! 👋 There was no chance to say goodbye to my colleagues of several years before Valnet deactivated everything so I’ll just say it was a huge pleasure to be part of trying to build something unique within the games media landscape despite going up against so many challenges.

Sure, the villains in Pokémon games are all "bad guys," but which ones would personally inconvenience me the most?

I'm still really looking for freelance work. If you have any leads, please get in contact with me: ryaneasby@outlook.com. I'm experienced in writing about tech, games, TV and movies, so anything in this fields would really help me out right now.
I'm looking for work. I have experience working in news, features, interviews and essays, and am able to do any of the above.
Hey this thing where they try to jingle keys in your face with new project confirmations to distract from the layoffs is very transparent and sucks.

Hey, let's talk about money and @skyboxcritics.com again. Last month, we hit $250 a month! Yay! This month, we're below that again. I'm not shaming anyone; times are hard. But the reality is Skybox operates at a loss that I make up personally, and that's becoming more and more unsustainable. 1/X

I hate all of this but if we lose Double Fine it'll be a criminal loss
BREAKING: Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off. Lots still in flux as many studios remain unsure about what's happening. Here's the latest: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Put together a Doctor Who tier list what with the show seemingly being over.
With the massive wall of games coming, feels like now is the best time to say that I'm still looking for work, and I'd love to help your site cover those games in the coming months

Dunno about to feel about the Doctor Who news. I've always got the audios and the books but even when the show was bad, it still meant something to me
