I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

So @oivas.com gave me one of his dad’s old Larry Kent pulps in Finnish. This was a hugely successful long running faux American crime series published in Australia by Cleveland Publications, but l had no idea it had also been republished overseas. I wonder where else it appeared?

A very pleasant afternoon in Helsinki spent in the company of @oivas.com and Juri Nummelin. We talked about Finnish history, films and Juri’s new book, which is drawn from his old Pulpetri site, one of the earlier blogs on the Internet to talk about pulp fiction and hardboiled crime fiction.

Wonderful episode that's far wider in scope than just the Hellman film and Willeford book, although that focus is sharp and granular. Betsy gets nice props and so does the wealth of the Willeford archives (who were major help in compiling SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE FEATURE). Kudos! #BookSky #filmsky
