There are way too many online sports fans trying to be online sports personalities instead of just being a fan. The engagement is more important than the fandom. Just yapping shit for attention.

Anyway. I’m glad nobody was hurt and I’m sure the journalists who attended the WHCD will not center themselves and their personal experiences and instead remain focused on holding the powerful accountable and informing the people about their government.

Aaron Boone is now cherry picking spots to play the second best hitter on the team who is currently leading MLB in wRC+ and wOBA. I am the Joker.

The Yankees/Mets discourse on social media is funny in an offensive way because it’s white people fighting with other white people while collectively ignoring the fact that non-white folks also love the Yankees and Mets and live in NYC.

Mark DeRosa refusing to pitch Mason Miller in the ninth inning of a tied game because he doesn’t know that it’s standard procedure to use your closer in that situation is chef’s kiss to a comically bad managerial performance. (I know what he said about the Padres but let’s be real here.)

Innocent people are getting killed left and right just to satisfy ten garbage ass people. There aren’t enough appropriate words to accurately describe this heinous bullshit. Fuck all of this, man.

The Yankees have totally bungled this thing with Jasson. They could’ve (should’ve) sent him down last year. He has the same issues now that he had last season. If they don’t think he has a fourth OF role here, he doesn’t have any path. They also knocked down his trade value in the process.

As always, I had a blast doing the @viewsfrom314ft.com pod with @pamsson.bsky.social. We talked about... ⚾️ The #Yankees' rather similar roster (and their messaging around it) ⚾️ Some of the RH bats still on the market ⚾️ The rest of the AL East ⚾️ My new pod & more

we said all along that they wanted Gawker dead not because we embarrassed a pro wrestler but because the Epstein story is one Gawker was covering a decade before most other people caught up & was just one of many stories exposing powerful people and their misdeeds

Among the batch of newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein: Epstein telling Peter Thiel he would “gladly share…expenses for the Gawker suit.” This was sent the day after @rmac.bsky.social and @mattdrange.bsky.social reported in Forbes that Thiel was behind the lawsuit that would bankrupt Gawker

For my latest piece, I spent the weekend writing about sports' response to the killing of Alex Pretti, slave patrol resistance in 1850s Boston, anarchist calisthenics, and overcoming nihilism to ensure we abolish ICE. www.goldenstateofmind.com/general/1076...

They hope sports helps you forget Alex Pretti. Make them abolish ICE instead.

An essay on slave patrol resistance, anarchist calisthenics, the NBA trying to return to normal via a Warriors and Wolves game, and ICE abolition.

I’m still trying to figure out what the hell Stidham was thinking with that backwards pass. Also, what are the refs doing blowing that whistle?
