Panel 1- Establishing the scene. We see SPACE COLONY ARK in space. Earth is distant. If one’s feeling ambitious, we can put in other details like Sonic’s Shattered Moon or the Justice League Watch Tower in the distance.

Caption (Batman)
So, this facility is where you were created?

Caption (Shadow)
Yes. This is where I lived, and where I lost my family.

Panel 2- From the outside, we view into a window on the Ark. Batman and Shadow are standing in the room where Maria passed. There might be a crack/shatter on the window to symbolize the bullet that killed Maria.

Shadow
This room is where Maria was taken from me.

Panel 3- Batman’s expression is stoic as he listens to Shadow. He’s reminded of his own past as he listens.

Shadow (off panel)
It was the one time in my life where, for all my power, I was helpless…

Afterwards, between the Professor’s unraveling and my own grief… All I knew was the desire for revenge.

Panel 4- Near match, but Batman’s expression is slightly softer. He understands and knows even his words won’t salve that wound.

Batman
…I’m sorry.

Panel 5- Inside the room, Shadow looks up at Batman, who looks down at Shadow.

Shadow
The time for regret has passed. It wasn’t long ago that I was able to get some closure, but sometimes I wonder…

Though my cause is in their memory…If they knew all I had done, would they approve of the way I protect the world they so loved?

Panel 6- Batman looks at the bullet spot and speaks to Shadow, who still looks to him.

Batman
We can only wonder, but you know in your heart why that pain exists.

And you know why it is important to protect others from feeling that same pain.

Panel 7- Shadow’s arms are folded. He’s not smiling, but there’s a contentedness. Batman should be standing near, ready to move on.

Shadow
So even in their darkest moments they won’t have to lose that hope

People are on here talking wild reckless to trans people. And it is very annoying because trans people have done everything they needed to do. They educated the public about candidates who were against civil rights. They pointed people towards viable alternatives. They came through in primaries.
