Furthermore: Algo-speak is actively harmful. Consider the "muted words" feature on BlueSky. It's a very literal feature and has no understanding of semantics or context. If you're muting the word "rape", you don't want to see or hear about it. Saying "grape" (verb) simply bypasses this.

"But I don't wanna get demonetized" - crybabies that lack any constitution and whose opinions aren't worth hearing I've never once been monetized. I never will be. I write for free. Nobody can hold my ability to pay my bills against my head and demand I self-censor. Try it sometime.

death die dead murder pedophile rape suicide You aren't on TikTok, motherfuckers. Stop with this euphemistic algo-speak. Say what you fucking mean.

Every year, I’m blessed to have a partner on this journey of life. We have our ups and downs, seen so much together, and have so much more to see. He is my rock, my anchor, my best friend, my companion, and the love of my life. Happy Birthday, @snares.bsky.social

I’ve been running the iOS 27 Beta, and I found an absolutely joyous use for Siri. So on Mastodon and Bluesky, you are encouraged to include alternate descriptions for images. Siri does an amazing job at that! Let’s continue making technology more inclusive for the world!

This screenshot shows an interface for adding descriptive alt text to an image. The image being described features an empty, light-colored ceramic plate with a subtle swirl pattern on a wooden table, next to a small square bowl containing a side dish. The screenshot shows a phone interface with an image of a round, speckled ceramic plate and a small square bowl containing what appears to be a cooked dish with root vegetables on a wooden table. Below the image, there is a text field for "Descriptive alt text" with a cursor, and a "Save" button.

The text in the field reads: “This image shows a top-down view of a wooden table with two dishes. On the right, there is an empty, round ceramic plate with a speckled, greenish-grey glaze in the center and a lighter, textured rim. To the upper left, there is a small, square white bowl containing what appears to be a cooked dish with root vegetables, possibly including carrots and burdock root.”

❄️Japan 2026 Settled into our cozy room, @snares.bsky.social and I ventured out to find dinner, and we stumbled into what look like a little nondescript place at the foot of the onsen falls. What followed was a really hearty meal that kept us nice and warm. Also, 8 pictures in a Bluesky post!

I'm still pretty tired from the trip, but I edited four @aurawra.org Dance Competition photos today to get something done. Except I did it in black and white, because it was easier, and I feel like monochrome dance competition photography is super rare so I want to try and get something out of it.

There is someone on the bus who thinks wearing this ultra bright LED thing on their bag as an accessory is “kewl”. Also, the passenger also did the whole “rub my nose and slide my fingers into my hair” manoeuvre. And they were seated in the priority seats on a packed bus. Kewl.

A picture of a really bright white LED light hidden behind a plush keychain on someone’s hip as they are seated down on a seat.

Pretty wild to think that I am starting my third year of university this week; and turn 43 in 2 more weeks. I’m more concerned with writing the narrative I hope to end on, rather than fuss over what other’s perceptions are of me, and continue to devote myself to those who support and love me.

❄️Japan 2026 @snares.bsky.social and I made a trip back to Kusatsu and back to one of the places we stayed before. That said, I seemed to have selected the family room during my booking, so imagine our surprise to see this huggggggeeeeeee room. There were like… 4 beds. And a hanging chair.

A picture of two beds laid out side by side with a gap in the middle for someone to walk between. The beds have a shared wooden headboard with a stylised wall above it. The wall has 4 asymmetric sections: one with a beige colour on the left of the photo, a light blue at a nature strip on the top, a large rectangle block of a darker blue, and finally the centre has a stone effect. The room has a mottled grey carpet, and the walls are in a plain white. A picture standing outside of the previously described bedroom now with a hanging basket chain and a small stool set beside the door leading to said bedroom. The floor is the same grey carpet, and most of the walls are the same plain white, with the exception of one of the walls having this light blue wallpaper on it. A picture taken opposite the previously described photos showing a large expansive room with a kitchenette, a wooden dining table that can sit 4 people, and two more beds towards the end of the room.

Just reviewing some footage, and I gotta say having an action cam while suiting is REALLY useful for someone who can’t process everything that happens within the compressed weekend of a convention. Not sure if I can stitch them into a coherent narrative yet. Will figure this out.

Aurawra gave me a lot to reflect on how I want to spend future conventions. Will be phasing out my pink outfit which I’m not vibing with anymore (was mostly for Pink Dot activism). Would like to experience more beach cosplay fantasies and tone down on high energy stuff moving forward.

❄️ Japan 2026 HEWWO SNOWW @snares.bsky.social and I were headed back to our favourite onsen town for a post-JMoF bit of hot spring action. Here we are at the base of our soon-to-be climb into the mountains with our highly capable Toyota Corolla Touring.

A tall banner just outside the parking lot indicates that it is a 7&i chain (related to 7-11). A white station wagon is the only car in the lot. Meanwhile, light traffic can be seen traversing along the main street.

It’s been a busy week just exploring Sydney and attending @aurawra.org. I really do appreciate small con vibes, and it definitely brings back that close knit vibe that I have missed. Looking forward to sharing memories of @snares.bsky.social and I’s trip together with you.
