Left this in a comment on @comicbookyeti.com’s thread, but it bears its own post. Others have addressed this, but the dissonance between “never fully remove the human from the workflow” & AI being ok for “coloring assistance, idea exploration, background generation, effects, animation” is HUGE. 1/3

I don't know why BLACK RIVER ORCHARD is on sale for two bucks at your favorite electronic bookmonger, but it is, so if you want a story of suburban folk horror (shut up it is too a thing) where a creepy cult of apple-eaters take over a town and begin, um, changing? Welp, go forth and get after it.

This is why, if you're wanting to do comics, it's far more important to practice drawing comics than it is to practice drawing. The drawing comes with time and you get the time by getting opportunities to make comics, you get those opportunities by demonstrating storytelling.

A lot of people draw well. Who cares? Storytelling is the hook for old pros. Drawing gets better the more you do it, an understanding of storytelling (pacing, compositional choices, directional reading, etc) is frequently more intuitive and suggests potential in a way that a drawing can't.
