Seems like it! (Especially telling: how she intervened last-moment to stop a similar project from going forward late in spring outside Griffith Park, in … Nithya Raman's district.)

You get a sense of how hapless a job Karen Bass has done at completing major public works from how the signs at projects _suddenly_ put into motion misspell "Department of Public Works."
Depertment.
reading the headline again and having a dark laugh. Dear NYT: Susan Collins voted for THREE justices who overturned Roe (Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh) plus a fourth who would have gutted it to allow a 15-week ban (Roberts)
Incredible that team Collins keeps responding to criticism of her Kavanaugh vote by saying she did such a good job vetting him. Reporters literally had his Bush-era emails saying of Roe that the Supreme Court "can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so"
Book a flight on Air India, get an Air India Express flight. OK. Go to manage my booking on Air India - "please contact our partner airline." Go to the Air India Express website - "please manage this booking on the Air India website." And round and round and round we go...
People come here to do the jobs that legacy American citizens refuse to do, and then paying taxes and buying houses with their hard-earned income, which revives dying flyover country. The only coastal elites who hate middle America are Stephen Miller (California) and Donald Trump (New York/Florida).
Who is the audience for this lie, from CIS, from the WP ed board shamefully parroting it? Is somebody out there meant to believe it? Or is it doing something else
Hard to put into words (I might) my anger at this Washington Post Editorial Board piece, which I share in its brief totality here.
Who is the audience for this lie, from CIS, from the WP ed board shamefully parroting it? Is somebody out there meant to believe it? Or is it doing something else
70 million Americans voted three times for a grifter to ruin our country.

Why Isn't Marco Rubio Doing His Job?
The allegedly competent Trump advisor sure seems to be avoiding giving advice on the most important foreign policy issue of the day.

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…
He won by under 1%, not the blowout that was being bandied about. But hey, glad this is over. I hope El-Sayed wins, but I also hope he doesn't turn into another Fetterman.
Money out of politics. Money in your pocket. Medicare for All. Michigan... We won. I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let's win in November.
So basically, primary polls are useless. Unless they skew the narrative towards the outcome one prefers.
What is truly "shocking" about the polling miss in Michigan is that it is completely average for a primary "The expected error on the margin between two primary candidates in a race for governor or U.S. Senate is a whopping 13.0 points." blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/2026-texas...
"diesel under Trump has now exceeded the average price struck during the Biden years."
"I do not see right now a way to create a balance of interests where the Trump administration walks away with something that normal humans would regard as a win" - as.ft.com/r/76e3e95e-7...
I hope he doesn't turn out to be another Fetterman. Also, this isn't the blowout that this hellsite predicted/wished for.

Trump: "see, we aren't Islamophobes!" His fans: "no, no, we actually hate Muslims!"
Trump's endorsement post was flooded by shitty Islamophobic replies from his shitty followers. Because of course.
"we make better possible" seems like consultant-speak

McMorrow's votes would have gone to...?? (The gap between AES and HS is smaller than MM's vote total with 49% in.)
PSA for New Orleans: Free IUDs for people without insurance and who make 400% or less of the Federal Poverty Level w/proof of income. Basically, if folks wanted an IUD but cost is a barrier, this is a great chance. via @nolanews.bsky.social
CrescentCare in New Orleans is giving away free IUDs in August. See who is eligible.
To be eligible, a person must be uninsured and make 400% or less of the Federal Poverty Level. Without insurance, an IUD typically costs between $500 and $1,800.

If the American people had it, it would not be paying down the national debt. (I'm guessing Bessent also reduces his personal tax burdens like any other rich guy.)
Bessent: "Here at the Treasury, I had $168 billion of tariff revenues that we're gonna have to refund. So when the Democrats scream, "Oh, the refunds should go back to the American people!', well, the American people had it, it was in the Treasury and it was paying down the debt."
I feel physically sick. What is wrong with this US Senator? I'm sure he claims to be "pro-life", so I guess that's pro-White-life.
Sen. Jim Banks refers to American citizens as "the babies of invaders" and compares them to Nazi spies and terrorists
Forgiving crimes because they were done in Trump's name, and imagining crimes by his opponents and independent scientists. Truly a banana republic.

Blanche's Sunday night moves should not save his nomination. The reaction from the pair of soon-departing Republican senators is not oversight and not principled.

OMFG, this. For any liberal or progressive cause, over and over. Boudin’s recall was a National Defeat, while Krasner’s victory was a quirky local interest story and Foxx’s reelection in 2020 got zero national coverage at all.
Just so everyone knows, this is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic. For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.
