I love terms like these! I learned the term "front-porching" from someone and use it all the time. It's when you are about to show someone your creative work, but you spend a bunch of time on the "front porch", saying all the things you're not finished with yet, before you let them into the house.

I watched a video by Zach Cregger referring to making a shitty first draft of a script as "elfing" (pretending you paid a shitty elf to make the draft and excusing all mistakes as that shitty elf doing a bad job) and unfortunately this advice was tailor-made to work on me (involves elves)
