I'm not a religious person, per se, but I feel the need to thank some higher power for the prospect of Philomena Cunk interviewing Michael Bay. www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/...

I finally watched Meatballs today. A bit late. I remember wanting to watch it when I was nine, because it looked like a funny comedy about kids. (And the title was Meatballs. Meatballs! Hilarious.) I was told that it wasn't really a movie for nine-year-olds. Now I understand why... sort of.
Imagine if you shot a man in Reno just to watch him die... but you got distracted and missed it.
"9 to 5" is a great song (the only Dolly Parton tune I like, in fact), but every time I get it as an earworm, it morphs into either Led Zeppelin's "Hot Dog", or the theme from The Jeffersons. You didn't have to know that, but I told you anyway.
On this 25th anniversary, we mourn the thousands of lives lost on 9/11. Our hearts are with their loved ones. Let us also honor the courageous first responders who gave their all in our darkest hour. We will #NeverForget their bravery in the face of such terrifying tragedy.
📌All the bigots asking why the mayor of New York City is presiding over the remembrance of the 9/11 attacks, need to shut up and explain to us why they support the traitor who attacked us Jan. 6.

Finally seeing Coyote vs. Acme today. Fun fact: when I watched Warner cartoons as a kid, I didn't realize Acme was the name of a company. I thought it was like a technical description of the products. (And when I learned what the word meant, I assumed it was just an ironic joke, nothing more.)

HEY THIS IS JUST A PAINTING OF A THEATER SHOWING COYOTE VS. ACME
If you weren't aware, Coyote Versus Acme is (loosely) based on a New Yorker humor essay of the same name. It's well worth the read.
Coyote V. Acme
From 1990: “Much as he has come to mistrust Defendant’s products, Mr. Coyote has no other domestic source of supply to which to turn.”

If I were Rush, I would have added a 39-second guitar solo to the song 2112 so that it clocked in at exactly 21:12. Missed opportunity.

Spent an unreasonable amount of time this week defending Bluesky to a few folks on Twitter. My take is still the same: it's the only social-media site I fully trust right now. It's like Twitter for nice people. Twitter randos responded, "It's just an echo chamber for extreme leftists!" and so on.
