I am signed up to the Sotheby's mailing list because I enjoy looking at books I very much want and can't afford. It also provides an intriguing glimpse into how the other half live when you get emails with subject lines like "your guide to buying loose gems."
Thing is you know full well if Jenrick, Braverman, Farage or Tice or any of that lot ever actually became disabled they'd be filling in the claim forms for PIP and AtW before you could finish saying 'Department for Work and Pensions'. Grifters gonna grift.
Look, I do think they should ban single use BBQs, but it's going to have as much impact on the world burning as banning plastic straws had on plastic in the oceans i.e. not NONE, but certainly not as much as doing something about big stuff, like regulating data centres, or not abandoning net zero.
I think they don't want to risk being in control. Being in control means you have to do things. You have to produce results and, most importantly, you have to take the blame. Farage as PM would be bound by a lot more rules. He'd have a lot less time and make far less money than he'd get as PM.

Not a woman but I use a stick for various reasons among them: - it increases my walking distance by relieving pressure and pain on an old injury. - it gives me extra stability as I have poor balance due to dyspraxia. - it's a much better visual indicator that I need a seat than a badge.

I've been taking part in Amnesty Campaigns for nearly 30 years. I even helped run an Amnesty International Club at my school. It's the reason I studied Human Rights Law at Uni. This is so extremely disappointing. "We'll stand up for everyone's human rights unless they threaten to sue us."

I think we need to actually restate how wild it is how much anti trans activism there is, and the extreme degree. We're getting two high court decisions on trans rights today alone that have huge consequences for trans people's lives (strip searching and puberty blockers). In one DAY
I really hope the "don't have kids you can't afford" crowd are taking that same energy into their financial planning to pay for their care needs...

Stop assuming politicians don't know PIP isn't an out of work of work benefit. They know. It just suits their desire to slash support for disabled people to keep comparing it to the minimum wage.
I mean this very genuinely- it's easy to forget how much you actually get done in a day sometimes trying to make up a bit of doggerel forces me to remember what I've achieved and makes even the mundane every day stuff feel a bit more epic 😀 (I'm also a fan on the 'to done' list)

Went to Whipsnade Zoo today and nearly saw the Child Redistribution system! Small child ran up to an adult and grabbed their hand. The adult was pushing a pram and started walking off with them. Then started speaking to them - about three words in looked down and just went "You're not mine!" 😂😂
just watched some besuited Evangelicals move a homeless guy from his spot outside Asda, so they can set up their leaflet stand. Feels like something Jesus would have opinions about.
