Here's a Statement from the Caucus Chair. The Ohio Democratic Party now considers the unification of the LGBT+ Community /FOR/ Action an "Unwelcome Distracction."

Notably this is just at the federal and gubernatorial level. If we start adding in state legislators and local Dems who've gone openly anti-trans we'd have a whole goddamn book.

This part stuck out to me because a) yeah, gaining critical mass to normalize bigotry has been the goal of the anti-trans side the entire time and b) that's a crazy thing to say anonymously

An actual problem among queer communities, including too many radicals, is reacting to this kind of obvious bullshit with an appeasing crouch and frantic self-criticism rather than the hard contempt our enemies deserve.

Asked elsewhere how I think folks should respond: * Refuse to treat obvious bad faith hitpieces like they're a sign of any real wider issue that needs some internal reckoning. Reality check those falling for it. * Go on the attack against the real problem: propagandists who pull this kind of shit.

Newsom has vetoed a bill that would have prohibited future governors from handing over abortion providers, helpers, and patients to red states for criminal prosecution. The bill also barred extraditions involving transgender care.

Reviving this thread on why the gentry — liberal and conservative — *really* hate trans communities and trans organizing. I think this explains a lot about why more Dem candidates are going openly anti-trans even though it hurts their electoral chances. They regard us as a threat.
