I'm reading a book from the 90s, Orlanda by Jacqueline Harpman, which is essentially about someone who represses wanting to be a gay man so hard their spirit splits into a separate body, but then the author is also repressing wanting to write a gay novel, thereby achieving Quantum Fujin, like so.

Oh dear! I did say that I would not follow him any more! I am afraid I got carriedAway by the story. But also, there is something fascinating about unrequited love and Aline's Maurice Alker made me feel nostalgic. I think he reminds me of some love affair that I did not have, because I was too young or too silly. Unfortunately, I did not have the presence of mind to turn into a boy and become adventurous.
