Just finished Control: Resonant in the space of a week. Haven't locked into playing a game, especially a AAA one, like that in a very long time. Loved it. Cried multiple times. Not usually one for achievements or NG+ but I'm considering it for this game.

Like many, I pursued a career in gamedev in no small part due to Dragon Age: Origins. I remember not long after playing it for the first time, finding the only job listing I'd ever seen in NZ for a narrative designer, and printing it out to keep as a goal as I entered uni. So yeah. This sucks.

it's really frustrating to explain to my non-games industry, offline friends why their favorite game studios keep shuttering. a lot of them think I'm being dramatic when I start yelling about late stage capitalism because they think their favorite childhood hobby must be disconnected from reality

This probably took me a total of 5 days spread over the last couple of months but I have finally sorted our overflowing bulk and managed to fill a 5000 card box with bulk to take to the LGS. 💀 Probably get about $50 for my effort but at least it'll be out of my apartment.
