Could where patients live affect SGLT2 safety? In CKD patients, living above 2,000 meters was linked to larger hemoglobin increases, with all thrombotic events occurring at high altitude. Closer monitoring may be warranted for higher-risk patients. kidney.pub/KID1305 #ASNKidney360

Tirzepatide slowed the rate of GFR decline more than dulaglutide in higher risk CKD. Interestingly, there were more GI side effects- haven’t seen that in practice.
I have been WAITING for this exploratory analysis of renal outcomes from SURPASS CVOT! Long story short, no matter how you dice it tirzepatide significantly helps, even more so in severe CKD. #NephSky @mikejohansenmd.medsky.social @hswapnil.medsky.social @brianrifkin.bsky.social
