Stupid (and evil) tech bros have ruined wearables tech. I would love a set of glasses that give me a functional HUD with lenses the can darken the outside world. Instead, we got perv specs. Dudebros harassing women in the street. All our data for sale. And still no HUD.

This is some of the most heinous, ableist crap I’ve ever seen come across my timeline. A woman in a wheelchair can suddenly walk because a man asked her to dance and told her to “just try”. You can’t “try harder” your disabilities away. This is not inspirational. It’s dangerous.

There's some discussion here at the moment about bawls, which are surprisingly still available at my local servo and I had one last year, but the one I miss was from about 2000 called Burn. I can't find the Oz version, which had no writing - just the flame on a black can.

I hate level scaling in games with the power of a thousand burning suns. If I come back to the starting area of a game and the mobs are just as hard, or of an equal level to me, or some other bullshittery of the same flavour but a differnt name, then you don't have a levelling system.

I need game devs to seriously take a look at how people react to finding out there's genAI in games before making decisions like this. As much as I am pro "go do the thing", not everyone is gonna be cut out to make games. Stop using the slop machine just because you don't wanna learn!!

I've seen so many folks playing Aniimo lately, likely who aren't aware of the GenAI use in the game. Just a PSA that Aniimo DOES indeed include GenAI in both the promotional material and in game.

Aniimo Pawprint Studios. NO disclosure, claimed they didn't use any and you wouldn't find any in their game. Players found it and have been calling it out since 2025, "sketch art", promotional material and in-game. -y

So the message of this research out of China, where you were seeing a lot of kids using A.I. to help them, was that when they were using the A.I., they were getting things done faster. But it turned out that the skills they were learning were not holding, that their actual personal performance, at least in the way we traditionally measure it, was degrading. What do you think when you hear that? The last part — I completely agree. Try to get a kid to do long division right now. The multiplication table is starting to be forgotten. Doing square roots, my goodness. Basic math is being forgotten. Does it matter? That’s my question for you. Yeah. I don’t think it does. I don’t think it does. I do not understand how some game devs can make a game and not cram it full of as much random stuff as possible. What do you MEAN you didn't go down a single easter egg rabbit hole? You added ZERO entire sections of the game for the memes? Just an astronishing amount of restraint.
