Honestly I think it's significantly worse among less politically attached young people. I strayed into some hockey-related subreddit because there was a post about Jewish hockey players and it was just a solid wall of Israel-inflected antisemitism.
the thing is like public health child literacy civil rights social justice rural poverty once you personally have become rich and successful, those things only matter if you still have the capacity to care deeply about people outside your immediate circle and that is harder than becoming rich

A very positive sign that, nearly a year after Kirk's death, many if not most of the people punished for speaking truthfully about him have won legal cases against their former employees and compensation. Again, panicked compliance with Trumpism has only *cost* institutions.
The capitulation of civil society organizations is perhaps the most important political story of 2025. For every 1000 pundit pieces on what Democrats need to do to win moderate voters, there is 1 piece on the politics of civil society--businesses, unions, congregations, universities, nonprofits, etc

the tipping point for me was when I initally saw people go past clanker and say shit like wireback or other variations on ethnic slurs. like, whatever, the computer doesn't have feelings, but the zeal people displayed that they could say something akin to a racial slur felt really fucking bad!
not to wade into discourse but I just don't think you should use slurs or be mean to even inanimate objects because it corrodes your soul just my two cents
Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.
If the fallout wasn't going to make countless millions of peoples' lives measurably worse (including mine), it would almost be funny how one single person basically fucked up the entire world
