Man, contracts are fun. I love that I've got, like, 20 to look over and correct, approve, decline, or fill out, all for a lot of different reasons. It's genuinely nice to see that people want to work with me. The fact that I *need* contracts is kind of awesome.

If I pre sell 200 copies of my Native American history comedy book between now and Wednesday, I’ll drive to Newport Beach and film my book unboxing video on John Wayne’s literal tombstone 🙂 (Pre Sale link in bio / if you already pre ordered, let me know in the comments!)

Library kids, library friends, we literally survived the day 💛 I am not okay, I'm on a journey to discover okay. I am not better, I'm getting help to be better. Today I am safe, I'm believing that is enough. You are enough. One day at a time. One tomorrow at a time 💚

I love the fact that the only way I know there's a discourse is when someone says there's a discourse without saying what it is about. It's nice /gen (for the love of everything crab, don't tell me what it is about)

Hey, guys, when the librarians get pissed about the destruction of books, it’s time to put those listening ears on. Because we are very comfortable with the idea that books are tools that can be retired. What’s happening right now is not that.

EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.

It was revealed the president's bank accounts got shut down by Capitol One for money laundering but the media is too obsessed with Francesca Hong's take on Thanksgiving to notice.

I've told this story before and I suppose now it's time to do it again. When I was in 9th grade, my English teacher was the elderly sort of man who always wore a gray flannel suit and had a cigarette before class and a cigarette at the end of class every period.

It seems like assigned reading, especially summer reading, should include titles from different genres, with different tones, from different eras. (And as a former sulky Anne Rice-reading teen, I advocate for some over-the-top moodiness in the mix with realistic problem fiction and happier tales.)

And you know what else was great? When we were hanging with designers, you know what we didn't talk about? Discourse. That stuff just cycles here online. In person we just talked to each other like normal people. Talked shop, for sure, but practical and positive.

I don't mean to sound simplistic, but I always thought the thrill of the X-Men wasn't their torment, it was their survival. It was that they stick up for each other, they fight, but if you come for one of them, they will kick the living **** out of you and then go have a beer. 10/

I haven’t seen The Odyssey yet, but I know they screwed up the movie with their casting decisions. It should feature a Greek actor like Jason Mantzoukas. And a bunch of Muppets.
