rustgrep is structural grep for Rust source. It searches for exact Rust symbol names, selects the definitions and implementations needed to understand them, and prints the original source with ripgrep-like paths and line numbers. radicle.network/nodes/radicl...

Great fun this morning at the #JCrete hack day with @ianopolous.bsky.social, getting @radicle.dev + @peergos.org running side by side on #solar - powered hardware! Blog post and peergos-backed release artifacts on Radicle, coming soon Goal: #peer2peer #decentralised software, packaged sustainably!
#JCrete day 1, a short run up the hill + quick swim in the tranquil sea! The calm before the storm of extremely interesting #openspace sessions: - Why aren't we shipping faster? - The future of #OpenSource with AI - OpenID Shared Signals Framework, - Do you still need the IDE? Changes!!
In just two days since the notorious Bitchat takedown from GitHub, the repo has already been mirrored to the peer-to-peer #Radicle network and risen among the top seeded repositories. In fact it's the second most seeded community repo. That's exactly what @radicle was made for.
“We can disagree and still be friends.” Yeah. About whether a hot dog is a sandwich. Not whether some people deserve rights.
So it seems that #codeberg decided to participate in the #ai polarisation. I don't judge them for that, it's their choice, of course. But, I can see how that will cause another exodus. More network drama, more polarisation. Will the next place also be (quasi-)centralised? I prefer to self-host […]

Some of the best developer conversations happen where inspiration flows freely 😌. Whether you want to host a session outdoors or just want to grab a coffee find a quiet spot and talk through an idea - our unconference has made "room" for that, with extra outside space options as well. 🌴😎
#SpaceX acquires #Cursor. Cursor's building a #GitHub replacement. So #Musk is coming for open source? I had "What if Musk acquires GitHub?!" on a conference slide [1], as the absurd, extreme example of why open source shouldn't be centralised.

For all who asked over the years, I've finally found a great service to receive support on: liberapay.com/maninak Please only sponsor what you can spare. I hope to offset the hosting and domain costs of radicle.at, serving the Radicle community for over 2 years.

Good news! I have been added to the RubyConf 2026 schedule to present JRuby and all the ways it lets you use Ruby when CRuby doesn't fit! I'm glad that the new @rubycentral.org values community and understands the importance of JRuby. Twenty years of JRuby...don't miss this talk!
If you've been meaning to check out #GitHub alternatives, moving to #radicle has now become a tiny bit easier: A hosted radicle.garden node means you don't have to worry about running infra yourself to keep your repos accessible. (Though you absolutely still can, if that's your thing!)

Spent some time last week reviewing hosted CI solutions for integration with #Radicle, for folks wanting to move away from #GitHubActions. Disappointingly, several main players (#circleci, #spacelift, #travis) don't seem to allow cloning from vanilla Git(!!) - they require a Git(Hub|Lab) account :(
