On a personal note, my lowest ferritin was 9 (after a few, in retrospect, ill-advised RBC donations) and has only made it up to 26 after several months of PO supplementation. Very relieved insurance can’t give me/my PCP pushback on infusions with these new guidelines. AFAB folks take note!!
