Question, as someone who never went to film school or even took a film class: do teachers ever show students mid, or even bad, movies on purpose? I was just thinking the other day that I could probably learn so much more about filmmaking from a random bit of sleaze than a GOAT movie.

For some reason, BlueSky isn't letting me post photos, but I had a good vacation. Horror Nights, three museums, two-ish cemeteries, one gallery, one concert (with three acts), one trip to the cinema, one horror market, two video rentals, and one pretty view of the DTLA skyline!

Rest in peace, Gerrit Graham. Always a highlight of those early De Palma films like GREETINGS, HI MOM! and - of course - PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE. Unforgettable in USED CARS. Was always a joy when he showed up, whether it was on STAR TREK or in CHUD II. A real loss.
