100% agree and what I want to add is that the starting point is learning to critically and analytically understand WHY you like those cartoons/anime that inspire you what is it putting down that you are picking up, why does it resonate with you, how would you use those elements in your work?
Tyler@tylerhendrix.blog · 3mo agoi am all for people going & making their own things. it is hard, vulnerable work but also i think animation people in particular really just need to take a couple years where they read some classic books, watch some old movies, etc. so they're not all drawing from the same tiny well of influences

It's times like these that, yes, while I would love to get my film done faster somehow, the journey is the point of the process. I love the challenge, the learning curve, the satisfaction of growing and earning the reward through the work you put in, and sharing that with others. Draw in spite!
The only “benefit” to ai in the creative space is speed, and even then there are so many sacrifices in quality that it’s just not worthwhile. Studios are so obsessed with cranking out the next big hit, they refuse to let shows grow and develop at a natural pace. “Incubate,” if you will.

I suspect that the Powers That Be looooove AI because it disengages your brain and softens your thinking. Your free thought, your imagination, gets unplugged and into the socket, the AI node goes. And they control that node. Which means they control your mind. So: they start with kids.
