Some professional news — I’ll be leaving the @Forward.com in mid-July. I’m excited for a new opportunity, but also sad to be leaving the Forward, which remains an essential source of independent Jewish news at a crucial time for just that. More soon.
My colleague @arnorosenfeld.bsky.social, who covers antisemitism for @forward.com, is from San Francisco and has an excellently local assessment of what just happened (twice) to @scottwiener.bsky.social. .
How seriously should we take San Francisco’s anti-Zionist hecklers?

“Allegations of anarchist conspiracy still have the power to quicken the pulse of opportunistic prosecutors, who have made, among other things, the presence of anarchist zines in the homes of the Prairieland defendants central to their case in Texas.”

I think the strangest Graham Platner takes I’m seeing is this “I don’t live in Maine so I don’t have an opinion on this” — as if that’s a standard that we apply to literally any other Congressional candidate

Terrible search is driving a lot of this — if I have a slightly complicated search query, I can either Google it and be handed a block of mediocre AI with confusing sourcing followed by often barely-relevant links or I can ask a chatbot and get a clean answer with better sourcing faster
