I watched Sleeping Beauty last night and it's so funny how about Aurora is put to sleep and Philip is captured, neither speak for the rest of the movie.

Yes as someone who probably isn't gonna watch it any time soon. Took me 2 years to watch Moana 2 and I still haven't seen Zootopia 2. It feels like everyone REALLY wants this movie to fail for straight up no reason.
Anyone else think the hate on Disney’s Hexed is forced?
One of the coolest things about The Mandalorian and Grogu was seeing Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder's names in the credits, billed right after Pedro Pascal. Without them, Mando is just a voice. They're essential to the character and I'm glad they're just as big ambassadors to Din as Pedro is.
It was so satisfying to see Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder get top billing in the opening credits of #TheMandalorianAndGrogu! They’re finally getting the long overdue recognition they deserve! 🙌
i no longer have the mental capacity to think, care, or comment about what’s been happening in the gaming world lately. from here until further notice, i’m going to enjoy the games for what they are: an escape from reality, & a chance to enjoy meaningful stories. that’s enough for me right now. 🎮
"Holy crap, Lois! It's Sora from The Kingdom Hearts!"
People FFS the "$5000 if the Republicans win the midterms!" thing is because he *knows* they're going to lose (and this way they can immediately complain that "you" lost something instead) - c'mon 🙄 This was the Act I plot of 'KAMP KRUSTY'
(because they're gonna give him the suit. Everybody wants to see him in the suit, and AC/DC's grandkids want new additions on their summer houses)
I have no special access to scripts, "insiders" and I don't follow any "leakers" that nobody else does. I've just been at this for a long time and "Peter defeats Evil Tony" is a *very* MCU-feeling "boy to man" arc to (also somehow) give Tom his SW Black Suit and kick him back over to the Sony movies
(My contention is that a version of this has always been "the plan," since Doctor Doom is the Final Boss of BOTH versions of "SECRET WARS" and 'Iron Man is back but its a bad one' is a logical twist for the end of a Multiverse story. They just took the "surprise" part out when they ditched Kang)
P.S. I would bet (having zero "inside kmowledge," just a feeling) that the big finish to "SECRET WARS" probably *does* involve Doom being 'bad Iron Man' still, in some fashion, and it's Spider-Man (Holland) who gets to beat him. That's too Campbellian for anyone in this business to pass up, IMO
This really highlights the overriding "There was probably one more set of movies (that's now just Act I of THIS movie) we were gonna make if COVID delay, Boseman's death a Majors 'departure' hadn't blown up the schedule" vibe of the proceedings, I feel.

My Hot Take about the Chosen One Prophecy of Star Wars is simply this. It works as a interesting subversion of The Chosen One trope and in the context of Episode 1-6 being the only Star Wars that counts. Once you add in the Expanded Universe or the Post Ep 6 stories in general it starts muddy it.
In fact I don't trust ANYONE who studies history through short videos The only real way to learn history is through HOURS long podcast or just reading books
More and more I realize there is a lot about my own millenial cutlure i dislike not even standing younger culture. Memes Reals Short Vids I much rather just listen to 5 hour podcast about the 19th century history

So many people don't actually know history just the pop cutlure version of it they see in movies or the news
I get the appeal of Third Worldist even if I think it can lead to a sense of dommerism here in the US.
The key thing about Mamdani as far as local issues is that he's reform-oriented and not closely tied or indebted to the NYC political establishment; the biggest driver of public controversy about him is that he is massively more Israel-critical than a typical NYC mayor, not a local issue at all
It's not really correct to say he's a Rockefeller Republican, because that makes it out to be an ideological thing, which I don't think it really is? But he's interested in and pursuing good-governance reforms because they enable positive change without needing fiscal capacity
Mamdani is a mayor with limited control over fiscal capacity who inherited a large budget deficit. This was understood before he became mayor. I see no reason to doubt that he is a sincere leftist and democratic socialist but it's just not especially relevant to most of the policy options he has
Most people who call themselves one ideology or another really aren't. Granted in this country we don't really "Do" ideology. We go aesthetics and maybe some basic policies that people think belong to said ideologies but mostly through pop culture reference

I hate to this day i still don't have my go-to person when i need to emotionally vent and what not.
Franchises need movies and it will trickle down to the other stuff.
Marvel Studios had its highest hours in Disney+ history with over 420M hours watched in August.
Watching stuff like this makes you realize how optimistic Star Wars is a universe. If they really wanted to push the "New Republic =West Germany" allegory General Veers would be in the New Republic Defense Force. #StarWars #History #TheNewRepublic www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqH6...

I don't really care about objectivity in art. For me its all boils down to "Did I like it" Execution and all that doesn't really interest me that much if I'm being completely honest.
It’s funny knowing how much discourse Steven Universe caused and then finally watching it and basically every episode ending with a character going “ah gosh, I hurt someone’s feelings and I feel bad about it. It’s important to apologize to someone you hurt” because it’s still ultimately a kid’s show
