There’s text: “tell us your deepest pains, and repeat them, repeat them again” referring to how the process of getting the diagnosis “gender dysphoria”, which in my country is mandatory to be eligible for trans healthcare, involves discussing trauma that is unrelated to gender identity (you are cross-examined and required to do many tests regarding mental health).

There is more text. “Prove it. Prove it to us. How do you know? But are you sure?”This refers to the part of the process that’s incredibly painful, and felt for me like I had to prove time and time again that I know who I am, which frustrated me to no end, it felt infantilizing.

The image was made out of frustration and pain I currently experience, waiting for trans healthcare.
