The chipping away at citizenship, which started with Shamima Begum, is utterly poisonous. Anytime now, Restore will support the removal of citizenship on the basis of race or religion.

My local "TG Jones" closes today. Might seem unimportant, but besides the OAPs lining up for the Mail & Express, it was the only place to buy The Wire, Electronic Sound, Jacobin, whatever. So one more portal into a a different world - and reading - collapses, and back to the net's moronic inferno.
I have a feeling that the reason some people are getting quite as exercised as they are about the boats is because they want to be able to say it’s ok to kill strangers and to be given a pat on the back for feeling that way.
Even in the world of stupid bigots, is there anything more stupid than saying in the same breath that ‘none of these people are refugees’ and ‘these people come from some of the most dangerous countries on earth’?

Trump regime has killed at least 234 people by bombing boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean since last September. Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it. This is a danger to us all.

How I feel right now about the British/ 🇬🇧English( whatever) political landscape is that some one wrapped in a Union Jack could whack me over the head with a flag pole & the BBC would shove a microphone in my face asking why I provoked the attacker & the Home Sec would invite the attacker for tea .

The major problem with this reporting - beyond its fundamental inaccuracy - is that when arrests are eventually made there will be no proper context and therefore it will seem like the state is smothering free expression.

Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.
The complete and total collapse of state function in the face of far right extremists. It is frankly ludicrous that Daniel Thomas continues to be at large given the series of crimes committed which he has literally filmed.

Today a bunch of fascists in the Channel risked multiple lives, and were possibly guilty of attempted murder, in addition to massively wasting the time and resources of UKBF and RNLi. It must be all over the BBC online headlines. Isn’t it?

RNLI then headed towards the Solent, AIS off and chased by the far-right. Authorities in Portsmouth likely were warned that people would be offloaded and processed at Gosport, so Thomas rallied activists.
I still don’t think calling fascists what they are would be electorally damaging to a government. But if you let things go too far, the time might come when it would be. Once that’s in their calculations, democracy is already as good as dead.
