Bought some Chinese crispy roasted pork belly from the local east Asian grocery shop with soy based sauce. Served it up with cooked jasmine rice, topped with ginger and spring onion oil, and chopped spring onion. #FoodSky

On to happier things that the horrid drive home... we had a DELIGHTFUL small dinner at Casa da Franca last night - would have loved to try more but we were both still full from our big Burmese lunch! Absolutely fantastic. Thoroughly recommend it. #foodiesky

3 small plates and a tomato salad side on the table, there's a beef dish with beetroot in red wine, there's mixed mushrooms in sauce in a piece of sourdough, there's ham croquettes, and a tomato salad. Pete and the interior of the restaurant, such a lovely lovely space

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. You’re only diminishing yourself with comments like this.

Your reminder Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids" in The Spectator, but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd" in The Guardian. Abhorrent.

The answer is Rod Liddle, Editor of BBC Radio 4's Today programme, in the Guardian yesterday. On its eight o'clock news bulletin the morning after Sunday's 400,000-strong Liberty and Livelihood March, the Today programme failed to mention the march at all. Bear this in mind when you hear all the furore over the Prince of Wales writing to the Prime Minister to protest about the plight of rural communities. The Prince may have been injudicious in expressing himself so forcefully, but people should remember that the letter referred to was written in the spring, and only leaked (in whose interest?) on the morning of the march. Besides, as Jonathan Dimbleby points out on the Opinion page, Prince Charles is entitled to a private correspondence with ministers, and has written, often in critical terms, to ministers of both parties for more than 20 years. In these letters, an appropriate concern for the sufferings of the underdog, whether rural or urban, black or white, has been a consistent theme. His only fault was naivete in the world of spin.Mr Liddle, on the other hand, displays the most blatant bias, animus, and even party allegiance, while running an important news programme for the corporation whose charter insists on the absence of all three. As a result of his bias, the BBC's most important political programme failed to report properly the largest protest march in British history. If 400,000 trade unionists or members of an ethnic minority or feminists had marched, and Mr Liddle had not reported it, he would assuredly - and rightly have been sacked. Yet we can be sure that Mr Liddle's position this morning is secure. There is something really terrible and shocking here, as there is in the Government's determination to ignore the march. The Guardian, no friend of hunting, made the point very well in a leading article which appeared on Tuesday. It said that the march had done "what the Chartists, the Hunger Marchers and CND had all failed to do" and mobilised huge numbers. "their peaceful presence", the paper continued, "entitles the protesters to respect, both for their cause and their engagement". This is exactly right - respect, though not necessarily agreement. Civil peace and democracy really are endangered if honest, non-violent and dedicated protesters - whether right or wrong - are treated with Mr Liddle's contempt.
