A few people have messaged me to ask about potentially contributing to this, so: I put together a form that any interested nude models/photographers can use to formally express interest. I'll leave this up for a month or so and if I have enough interested folk I'll start putting this thing together.

new stupid collaborative zine idea: first half is my weird silly drawings of naked people, second half is people who get naked professionally trying to recreate them as photos
Contributing writer Deborah Zamboni Jr. Lays out a case for sensible reform. Read the full column in our first issue: philmcandrew.itch.io/hermit-magaz...
I have found out something I worked on came out because I see it in a store rather than be told it’s out or be tagged in the launch announcement. Please give a little love to your illustrator. We really do need the tag for new work.
Cover reveal days are such fun, huge days for authors. But you know who they can also be huge for? The illustrators. Don’t forget to credit them. Cover reveals always blow up outside of an author’s bubble, and someone who sees it could be that artist’s next gig. ❤️
Hiya peabrains. My photo zine NOBODY’S HOME is finally in print and available for purchase. It features photos taken on film over the past two years. Message me if you’d like one! Thank you 🪁

This morning I found myself thinking about this comic I drew for MAD Magazine back in 2013. I had no idea what was coming back then, with AI actually destroying people's cognitive abilities....
Something to bear in mind as things get harder, from a 2009 Metafilter post from someone who lives through Sarajevo.
THREAD. Contrary to what you are being told, 40 years of polling have established that shifting money away from police/prisons toward social services is one of the most popular public policies among *all* political demographics. But it's not just that, it goes way deeper.
Making fliers for shows was one of the first places I got to share my art as a teen. It helped me feel like part of the music scene in my town. I’m so sad thinking about how little opportunities like that are getting stolen from young ppl by AI.

It isn't that we do not have enough to feed the poor, it is that we can never have enough to satisfy the rich.
The biggest conn capitalism ever pulled was convincing us that working 40 hours a week and still worrying about the electricity bill is normal. We have the technology, productivity and wealth. Being exhausted and broke isn't a technological problem. It's a distribution problem.
saw a robot out in the wild yesterday. a goofy box shaped star wars looking robot cleaning the floors at the grocery store, nobody visibly controlling it. meanwhile they only had one register lane open with a huge line of people waiting who didn't want to go through self checkout (I was one of them)
"Summer's End," a flash fiction story by fantasy writer James P. M. Creekfield. Read the rest in our first issue: philmcandrew.itch.io/hermit-magaz...
Chuck schumer’s daughter being the head lobbyist at Amazon suddenly makes a lot of puzzle pieces click into place

I've been all over the dang country a handful of times and I've never seen a place with more people reading books than New York City
I’m a New Yorker. It’s bad out here and getting worse. But fundamentally, this is still a literate town. You spend a lot of time traveling in a train. A book helps a lot of people to pass the time or otherwise the train gives a lot of people the chance to squeeze in that reading.
Having myself a nice little night of tumbling down music holes on youtube. Kicking things off with Buffalo, New York's very own SCIENCE MAN

I won’t be mad at you for turning off my reposts. ☺️ But remember, there’s no algorithm in your regular Following feed, so the only way we can boost lesser known artists, game devs, etc. and make their posts more visible is via reposts..
v1.130 is live! Want to follow someone for their posts but not their reposts? Now you can — turn on "Hide reposts in feeds" for any account you follow.
Everyone should block this account. @curation-lab.bsky.social It is an ai that replies and quotes all art by artists, giving unwanted criticism, and scanning their art.
