Scrolled into a clip of Richard Hammond talking about how the BBC saw early Top Gear. If you just replace “cars” with “games”, you start to see there’s some things old media institutions just cannot be made to care about, no matter how important, unless it randomly becomes a smash hit

A moment to F1 post: that gigantic building they’ve put in at the top of the hill at the Circuit of the Americas is the most fuck ugly thing I’ve ever seen. One of the most beautiful turn 1’s on the calendar and they’ve ruined it to put up a second Paddock Club. #USGP

I saw a lot of would-be games writers come and go at The AU Review and precious few of them had 'it'. When Leah came on board, I knew she was different. Not just better, light years ahead of the rest. We've been lucky to have her yarns to read for so many years. Whatever is next is gonna rule.

hello, some news. next week is my last at screenhub. i’m moving onto something new, exciting and non-games journalism next! i have had such a wonderful time writing about games. i’ve met so many cool people! i went to new york for the switch launch! disneyland for star wars jedi! a true blast!

hey if there was a silver lining to this whole thing though, does the australian games industry have a new found appreciation for the communications profession now? surely.

please stop replying to game devs saying things like "well look on the bright side those laid off devs can start their own indie studios now" because eventually one of us is going to snap and "WITH WHAT FUCKING MONEY" would be a shitty last thing to hear before you die

it's 2030. there is one american game job. the game is a result of the fortnite-roblox merger. they added gatchas and ads exclusively for prediction market platforms. while you work on it, jared kushner and a random c-suite with at least 3 sexual assault cases take turns yelling at you.
