Interesting to read this paper showing how the medieval English Jews are still relevant in legal debates today. Though, Julie Mells' work argues that Jews weren't exempt from the Common Law, nor were they royal villeins, that was a later invention.

A recent book on Muslim Europe repeats this claim that Jews invited or helped plan the invasion of Spain in 711, despite it long-since being discounted by historians (also weirdly puts 'invasion' in scare quotes). Disappointing to hear this stuff promoted uncritically.

R/askhistorians post Did the Jews help precipitate the Moorish Invasion of Spain? I was reading Barbara Tuchman's March of Folly and I came across this passage: For Spain's Jews, the time had come. A once tolerated minority who had arrived with the Romans and prospered as merchants, they were now shunned, persecuted, subjected to forced conversion, deprived of rights, property, occupation, even of children forcibly taken from them and given to Christian slave owners. Threatened with extinction, they made contact with and provided intelligence to the Moors throughtheir co-religionists in North Africa. For them anything would be better than Christian rule. Just curious: How much of a role did the Jews of Spain play in precipitating the invasion of Muslim forces in Spain? Is this serious or just anti-Semitic nonsense?
