Why is this? I can only throw up my hands and declare I do not know. A combination of factors, I assume. Whatever the reason, trans boys are growing up seeing themselves constantly described as confused mentally ill girls their whole lives, and that no one has come directly to their defense.

We have never put those words on this. We have never acknowledged who the primary targets are, or the way they are relentlessly misgendered. There is no discernable movement attempting to get people to stop misgendering trans boys.

Just to mention, I *did* rant about this quite a bit when I was on CMD lamenting that horrific NYT podcast series (which leaned heavily on this faux concern for ‘girls’, by which is always meant: trans boys) … www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCrL...

Part of the work of this moment is to insist on and expect compliance — and ensure that any noncompliance or efforts to lie to or otherwise mislead courts remain unacceptable and to be investigated thoroughly whenever they happen. They must remain seen — and responded to — as an aberration.

And, specifically, when you insist on replying to me with it — and I do not mean good-faith questions or analysis, but rather knee-jerk "they'll ignore it"/"there are no consequences" pablum — you tell me that you (1) don't actually know what's happening and (2) aren't attempting to understand.

I said this in a thread last night and in a thousand threads before it, but you really are doing the work of those who would destroy democracy and the rule of law when you are a doomer. You can be aware of — and vigorously oppose — the lawlessness of this administration without insisting on doom.
